Custom web app development in Dubai and the UAE

Turn the spreadsheet you've outgrown into a web app built for your team.

SheetToApp is a development service, not a conversion tool. We study how you use your spreadsheets, paper forms and WhatsApp threads, then design and build a web application around that workflow for businesses, churches, property managers and training centres in the UAE.

  • Designed and built for you, not auto-generated
  • No technical brief needed
  • Start with the essentials, add more later
  • Works on desktop, tablet and phone

Sample interface with illustrative data: a rent-tracking sheet rebuilt as a property management app.

When the spreadsheet stops keeping up

Most organisations don't need more software. They need the records they already keep to live in one place, follow their own process and answer questions without a search through old files.

In the sheet today In the app we build

Important information is spread across spreadsheets, paper forms and a WhatsApp group.

Every record sits in one database your team can search in seconds.

You only notice a missed payment or an unfinished task when you check by hand.

Status is visible at a glance, and overdue items are flagged for you.

The same details get typed again on every form, list and report.

Information is entered once and reused wherever it's needed.

Nobody is sure which copy of the file is the latest.

Everyone works from the same live data, with access set by role.

Monthly reports take an afternoon of copying and checking numbers.

Summaries are produced from the records you already keep.

Off-the-shelf tools make you change your process to fit them.

Screens and steps follow the way your organisation actually works.

Recognise a few of these? Describe what's slowing you down and we'll suggest where to start.

Who we build for

We focus on organisations that manage people, money and requests every week, and have outgrown spreadsheets for it. Choose yours to see the kind of system we'd build.

Business operations management

Orders, jobs, stock and customer details live in different files and inboxes, and the owner is the only person who knows the full picture.

What we could build

  • A customer and order database with job stages
  • Inventory or asset tracking with low-stock alerts
  • An owner's dashboard showing what's due, late and done

What changes: your team updates one system, and you can see the state of the business without asking around.

Church and ministry management

Membership lists, attendance sheets, offering records and event sign-ups are kept by different volunteers in different places.

What we could build

  • Member and family records with ministry groups
  • Attendance tracking for services, cell groups and events
  • Giving and expense records with monthly summaries

What changes: leaders see attendance trends and finances clearly, and volunteers only access what their role needs.

Property and tenant management

Rent due dates, post-dated cheques, contract renewals and maintenance requests are tracked in a spreadsheet and a phone full of messages.

What we could build

  • Units, rooms and tenant records with contract dates
  • Rent and cheque tracking with overdue flags
  • Maintenance requests from report to resolution

What changes: you know which units are paid, vacant or waiting on repairs without opening five files.

Student and training management

Enrolments come in by form, phone and walk-in; attendance is on paper; fee balances are worked out at the end of the month.

What we could build

  • Course, batch and student records with enrolment
  • Class attendance that trainers can mark on a phone
  • Fee schedules and outstanding balance tracking

What changes: you can see who is enrolled, attending and up to date on fees for every course.

Booking and job tracking

Bookings arrive by phone and WhatsApp, technicians get their schedule by message, and job history is hard to find when a customer calls back.

What we could build

  • A booking calendar with staff and time slots
  • Customer records with full service history
  • Job status updates your team can make on site

What changes: fewer double bookings, and every customer's history is one search away.

Membership and contribution tracking

Membership renewals, dues and event registrations depend on one committee member's spreadsheet, which changes hands every year.

What we could build

  • A member database with renewal dates and status
  • Contribution and dues records with receipts
  • Event registration and attendance lists

What changes: records survive committee handovers, and renewals stop slipping through.

Other operations-heavy organisations, such as clinics' admin teams, logistics yards or event companies, are welcome too. If you manage records every week, we can talk.

What your application can include

These are building blocks, not a fixed package. Each project uses only the parts your process needs. Hover or tap a feature to see where it lives in a typical app.

Why build around your workflow?

Generic software is designed for the average customer. A custom application is designed for the way your organisation already runs, and only includes what you'll use.

Adapting to generic software

  • Your process bends to fit the tool's fields and screens
  • You pay for features nobody uses, and still miss the one you need
  • Workarounds pile up in side spreadsheets
  • Training staff on menus that don't match their job

An application built around your work

  • Screens and steps follow how your team already works
  • Scope is set by your priorities and budget
  • Built in phases, so you can add features as you grow
  • Documented and handed over properly, so it can be maintained

An honest note: custom isn't always the right answer. If an existing product already fits your needs, we'll tell you during discovery. It may be faster and cheaper for you.

Start small, then grow it

A church might begin like this:

  1. Phase 1EssentialsMember records and Sunday attendance
  2. Phase 2FinancesGiving and expense records with monthly summaries
  3. Phase 3ExtrasEvent sign-ups, volunteer rosters and reports

From sheet to app, step by step

No jargon and no surprises. You'll know what's being built, what it costs and what happens next at every step.

  1. Discovery

We look at the spreadsheet or forms you use now, talk through the process around them, and agree what a good result looks like.

You get a short written summary of the problem and goals.

  2. Planning

We agree the features, priorities, phases, timeline and budget before any building starts.

You get a written scope and quote.

  3. Design

We sketch the key screens so you can see how the app will work and suggest changes early.

You get screen designs to review.

  4. Development

We build the agreed features and share progress regularly so you can try them as they're ready.

You get working previews along the way.

  5. Testing

We check features, usability on different devices, and the access and security controls agreed for the project.

You get a version ready for your sign-off.

  6. Launch

We deploy the application, help move your existing data where agreed, and provide the handover or support we've arranged.

You get a live system your team can use.

Step one is a conversation. Bring the spreadsheet you're struggling with.

Example solutions

These are concept projects with sample data, showing the kinds of systems we design. They are not client work.

Questions people ask first

Something else on your mind? Ask it in the project form. There's no obligation.

Ask a question
Is SheetToApp an automatic spreadsheet converter?

No. SheetToApp is a custom development service, and there's no upload-and-convert tool. We look at your spreadsheet and how your team uses it, then design and build an application around that process. Spreadsheets are a common starting point, but we can also start from paper forms, an existing system, or a description of the problem.

What is a custom web application?

It's software built for your organisation that runs in a web browser. Your team signs in through a web address on a computer, tablet or phone. Nothing needs to be installed, and the screens are designed around your own records and process rather than a generic template.

How much does a web application cost?

It depends on the scope: how many features, how complex the rules are, whether it connects to other services, and what ongoing support you want. After a discovery conversation you'll get a written quote, usually split into phases so you can start with the essentials and fit the budget you have.

How long does development take?

That also depends on scope. A focused tool takes far less time than a system with many user roles and integrations. We agree a timeline in the proposal and plan the work so a usable first version is ready as early as practical.

Can you build an application based on my existing spreadsheet?

Yes, and it's the most common starting point. Your spreadsheet shows what information you track and how you use it, which tells us what the app needs to do. Where the existing data is in reasonable shape, moving it into the new system can be planned as part of the project.

Can I use the application on my phone?

Yes. Applications are designed to be responsive, so they work in the browser on phones, tablets and desktops. Screens that staff use on the move, like attendance or job updates, are designed with phones in mind.

Can you build a system specifically for my church or business?

That's exactly what we do. A church, a training centre and a property company need very different things, so every application is shaped around the organisation that will use it.

How is my information protected?

Security is planned for each project based on what the data is and who needs it. That typically covers sign-in and role-based access, encrypted connections, backups and the choice of hosting. We'll explain what's in place in plain language. No system can be guaranteed perfectly secure, and we won't claim certifications we don't hold.

Who owns the application and the data?

Your data belongs to you. Ownership of the code, hosting arrangements and what happens at handover are set out in writing before work starts, so there's no ambiguity later.

Do you provide maintenance and updates?

Yes, as an agreed support arrangement. That can cover fixes, updates, small improvements and new features. The details are agreed separately so you only pay for the level of support you need.

What if I only have an idea and no technical requirements?

That's normal and completely fine. Describe the problem in your own words. Turning it into clear requirements is part of our job during discovery and planning.

Do you only work with clients in Dubai?

We focus on organisations in Dubai and across the UAE, and we're happy to work with clients elsewhere. Most of the work happens online, with in-person meetings in Dubai where practical.

Tell us about the sheet you've outgrown

You don't need to know how to code or have a technical specification. Describe the problem in your own words. No spreadsheet? That's fine too: paper forms or a WhatsApp group are a common starting point.

  1. You send a short descriptionTwo minutes is enough.
  2. We reply to arrange a conversationOnline or, in Dubai, in person.
  3. You get honest advice on next stepsIncluding if custom software isn't the right fit.

Fields marked with an asterisk are required.

A sentence or two is enough.
